Department "Physical-metallurgical processes of hardfacing of wear-resistant and high-temperature steels"

Main trends in research activity :
Investigation of physical, physical-chemical and metallurgical processes in arc, plasma and electroslag hardfacing of wear-resistant, high-temperature and corrosion-resistant steels and alloys, and also the processes of wear of the hardfaced parts, that define their service life.
The work of the Department is directed to the development of the theory and practice of surfacing and methods of alloying the deposited metal under different service conditions, to the development of new resources-saving technologies on this base , materials and equipment for the restoration of the worn-out parts and for the improvement of serviceability of new parts, executive organs of machines and mechanisms, tools, etc.
